Week 23 – Reading Topics (Ekklesia)

Chapter 13 – A Fuller Understanding of the Incarnation

“The bulk of [Jesus’] teaching was done either around a table with food and drinks, or in the marketplace, and His conversation included the most diverse combination of business topics.” This quote is found in the context of Jesus being a businessman (carpenter) and a man who understood society and culture. How do you balance being a heavenly minded individual while being involved with society and culture? How did Jesus do it?

Chapter 14 – A Fuller Understanding of What God Loves the Most

Ed talks about having a perspective like Paul had toward sin and sinners. I choose to see you not the way you look now, but the way you are in Christ, fully forgiven and restored. We find this in 2 Corinthians 5:16 —Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh. How does this mindset impact the way you walk with God and impact those around you with the love of God?
